Mendenhall Glacier

Mendenhall Glacier, located just outside Juneau, Alaska is 12 miles long and 1.5 miles wide and extends from the Junea Ice Field to Mendenhall Lake. That is alot of ice. This glacier is a popular attraction due to it being close to a population center (Juneau) and is easier to get to than most glaciers. The Mendenhall however, is humbled in size by the larger glaciers such as the Malapenina Glacier in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park which covers 1,500 square miles . That is larger than the Entire state of Rhode Island.
