Moose Profile
Alces alces
This large bull Moose was feeding in a small lake at sunrise as I photographed from the shore. As this Moose left the lake to bed down in the woods, he passed within 10 feet of me and gave me a casual glance as he slowly hoofed by. I made sure to avoid eye contact letting him no I was no threat. Under certain circumstances Moose can be aggressive and in rare instances have even killed people with their powerfull hoofs and antlers. It is always wise to give any animal their space. I was once charged by an angry Moose while Kayaking along a lake shore in Alaska . Fortunatly for me, in that situation, the Moose decided not to chase after me into the lake,Moose are very fast swimmers.
So where does a seven foot Moose with huge antlers sleep?
Anywhere he wants to.
