Sub-adult Bear in river by log
Sub-Adult Bear in River by log This young Bear too old to be considered
a cub and too young to be classified as an Adult Bear has yet to have the
experience and size to be able to gain access to some of the more popular
fishing spots on the river. Competition among Bears is fierce and many
Bears wear the scars and fresh open wounds from battles over these fishing
areas. A Sub -Adult Bear must wait for the larger more dominant Bears to
have their fill of Salmon before getting a chance to fish the "hot spots".
Sometimes the less experienced Bears will wait downstream and pick up scraps
of Salmon that the Dominant Bears have let slip through their paws.
