Bear Cub resting head on mother
Cub resting head on Mother When large male Bears are near , Cubs and their mothers tend to stay very close together. This cub seems to be a bit of a Mama's boy but I don't blame him. Male Bears often kill cubs so that the female Bear will be ready to breed sooner. The fact that the summer Salmon run brings large numbers of Bears into realtively small fishing areas makes life that much more difficult for mother Bears with cubs. |
