Bear in foam
Bear in foam This Alaskan Brown Bear takes time out to rest while fishing for Salmon below a large waterfall. Fishing techniques vary among bears and it is thought that mother Bears teach their cubs to fish using the same method that was taught to them by their mother. Some Bears fish on top of the falls waiting for a leaping Salmon and then grab it with their mouth. Other Bears simply wade in the river and grab a Salmon with their mouth or pin it against the stream bed with their paws. The most amazing fishing technique I ever saw was a Bear that would dive under the water below the waterfall and swim around underwater for over a minute and come up with a Salmon in his mouth. |
