NewsHello 2013January 1, 2013 It
is a whole new fresh year to start out with and I look forward to
another good year, I really look forward to Spring getting here but
that goes with out saying. I am traveling to the annual photography
convention IUSA in a couple of weeks which will be in Atlanta this
year. I look forward to some great speaksers and hopefully some of that warmer weather.
So what else is new at the moment? We have changed our on location credit card processor to Square, which is both really cool and very user friendly. Our on location portraits will get a boost this year with the addition of our new portable studio set up.
We
plan on consolodating our web presence to mostly SharpPhoto.com and
less on our facebook presence. The disenchantment with Facebook seems to
be growing and it no longer seems to be as popular as it wasa few years
ago. With more people voicing concerns over Facebook's privacy policy
and their attempts to gain ownship over users's content, it is becoming
clear that it has "Jumped the shark" , so to speak. We will still have a
Facebook page, but plan on whole lot more blog and much less
Facebook. Most facebook posts will be limited to links to our blog.

Photographer’s Work Goes to International Exhibition
Three
Photographs created by Ed Sharp of Ed Sharp Photography Studio in
Greenwich,NY have recently been chosen to be part of the Professional
Photographers of America’s 2011 International Photographic
Competition’s print exhibit. One of his entries titled “Worker Bee” was
also selected to be part of the IPC’s prestigious Loan Collection.
Sharp’s work will be on display January 15-17, 2012 at the IPC Exhibit
at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, La . This
exhibition is held in conjunction with Imaging USA, an annual
convention of professional photographers and several photographic
associations.
A
panel of eminent jurors from across the United States selected the top
photographs from more than 4,000 total submitted entries at Gwinnett
Technical College in Georgia. Judged against a standard of excellence,
over 1,500 images were selected for the General Collection and just
over 600 (15 percent) were selected for the esteemed Loan Collection,
the best of the best. The Loan Collection images will all be published
in the much-anticipated Loan Collection book, and over 200
selected General Collection images will be published in the Showcase
book by Marathon Press. Ed’s image “Territorial Dispute” will also be
included in the Showcase book as well.
Sharp’s
images will appear in New Orleans at the Ernest N. Morial Convention
Center alongside other photographic works from PPA’s photographic
competition and traveling and special invitational displays. These
images constitute one of the world’s largest annual exhibits of
professional photography gathered simultaneously under one roof. The
selected images may be also be seen at Ed Sharp Photography’s web site-
